ABOUT APRILE
NEW LEADERSHIP DELIVERING RESULTS.
Aprile has lived in district 5 her whole life. She has had the pleasure of raising three children there, and worked for several years at JCPS schools J.B. Atkinson and Shawnee High School. She is a licensed minister, and has been an active member of The Greater Galilee Church for over 20 years.
Aprile has been involved in community organizing since 2013, when she began speaking at churches in the area and hosting empowerment workshops with organizations like City Life. In 2020, Aprile became active in social justice work through organizing rallies and leading marches in Louisville. In 2025, Aprile joined the Louisville Democratic Socialists Of America to fight for the rights of working people.
Aprile is the founder of Women Who Win, a women's empowerment organization with over 5,000 followers. She has professional experience as a youth mentor, domestic violence advocate, and activist. Aprile is an outspoken advocate in calling for an end to gun violence, homelessness, and food deserts in district 5.

My mission lies at the intersection of my passion for people and my commitment to impactful work. I am eager to be elected the Metro Councilwoman for district 5, a position that will enable me to further enhance our community and create joyful experiences for all.
